LEAFLET DESIGN TO CREATE AN AGE FRIENDLY MANCHESTER
Quite a challenge was posed by the GM Ageing Hub in the brief. The idea was to produce a document that could be both a poster but also an easy to use leaflet for the target demographic who were primarily over 50.
The format was the tricky part, but a great example of why print is also still very relevant. We wanted to design a leaflet that was familiar to the audience and hit upon using the old bus timetable leaflet format, or ordnance survey map style.
This enabled us to use the folds as ‘page’ dividers to organise the key 12 ways on one side, and on the reverse the best examples of their work throughout the region.
We worked closely with their internal team and within the GM Ageing Hub design guidelines. This enabled us to evolve the style a little so we created a series of fun but informative characters to talk about the 12 messages.
The finished design was printed and 5000 copies were produced, with the GM Ageing team using the design assets to create online social media shorts and other marketing collateral such as banners.
Launched on the 1st May 2018 by Mayor Andy Burnham, and in partnership with another one of our clients, the Centre for Ageing Better, we were thrilled to be involved and look forward to seeing it pop up everywhere – see some images below we nabbed from Twitter!
