We were absolutely delighted to win highly commended in the Made In Bury Business Awards in December.
Here’s the thing. As a design agency, we don’t enter design awards. Having been involved in quite a few over the years (won and lost) Paul felt that they were maybe a little bit self-indulgent. So the decision was taken to focus on business awards. Purely because they are generally more rounded and far less subjective.
This was the first time we had ever entered into business awards. With this in mind, we felt it made sense to stay local and enter the Made in Bury Business Awards (MIBBAs). Widely accepted as the region’s biggest business awards ceremony, they kick off in July where nominations are submitted. To put it into context, the Borough of Bury covers one of the largest geographical areas in all of Greater Manchester and has one of the fastest-growing economies as well. It was also important to us because we’re based in Radcliffe, Bury and we work extremely closely with many local businesses and charities. This was a particularly proud moment for our design agency to get through to the final 6 of our category, where we had 5 minutes to present to a panel of local business leaders, during a 10-minute slot. The last 5 minutes were a Q&A session.
We were delighted to be announced as one of three winners a couple of weeks later. The awards evening was a brilliant one and to win the highly commended award was an extremely special moment. Congratulations to all the other winners as well!
Paul at Think even got to meet the compère, Andy Crane, from the CBBC’s broom cupboard. It was a wonderful night for us and all of the winners. Our friend Andrew Nutter was at our table too!
