We’ve been working with the Centre for Ageing Better for over two years now producing various items from reports, to exhibition and event graphics and commercial photography.
In July 2018, following an extensive and collaborative process, the Centre for Ageing Better launched a bold vision to transform people’s experience of later life. Their strategy, Transforming later lives, had a specific focus on helping people who are approaching later life – almost a quarter of the population – and those who are at risk of missing out on a good later life. Following the work we did on Transforming later lives report we were chuffed when the team came back and asked us to help produce their Impact report for 2018-2019.
The Impact report covers the main 4 areas they had been working on throughout the year and they brief was to create a report that summarised the various activities and findings, but also illustrated the findings – literally.
We set about producing a pagination of how we felt the report should be broken up into based on the Word document provided. This is usually done as a flat plan. Part of this was where to house the infographic that we would create. The solution was to design the report with as a 210mm square format and have 6 page cover which would allow a fold out at the back of the report.
Once we had approval on this we set about illustrating the infographic. The idea was to create a landscape that highlighted the 4 main areas of work.
The rough illustration was passed by the client with minimal changes so we went to digitise it in Adobe Illustrator. The added idea was we could use the various areas of the landscape throughout the report design.
