The Healthy Ageing Research Group at University of Manchester came to us with a level of passion we rarely see. The goal was to change government policy on accessibility features in new-build homes. We undertook creating a policy report for presentation at a London event to cabinet ministers. However, due to initial plans falling through, we also needed to create the animation for the project.

A 3:23 video animation was created. It highlighted many of the difficulties faced by dementia patients in their daily lives and what they think could help them. The video featured a city full of people, all with different problems they must face. The stylistic choice of blank faces can help anyone who sees it to think of people from their own lives in their place, leading to a sympathetic view on the people and their struggles. The editing is a collaborative process. We usually anticipate 2-3 rounds of changes before final export but it’s important that our clients are closely involved when finalising the video content to create the best possible result.
