Evolving a brand identity for The LK Group

An interesting project came along via our website. A local business based in Radcliffe Manchester, The LK Group did a search in Google for a local design agency who had construction sector experience.

They found us via one of our posts about work carried out for Balfour Beatty.

The family-run business who recently won the Best in Class for Family Business at the Made in Bury business awards. They also celebrated their 25 year anniversary in 2017. Their  expertise enables them to offer consulting and contracting services from their offices in Manchester, Liverpool, London and Glasgow. This includes various construction businesses and means they can really get projects moving forward quickly.

The LK Group came to us for help with a problem. They wanted to create an illustration that showed all the services they offered.

During the discussion, we advised that perhaps they might want to look at their logo as well because we felt it was perhaps a little dated, and now would be a good time to look at it.

On agreement, we set about defining the brief.

This included the evolution of their existing logo design and accompanying brand identity elements, such as typography and colours, and of course, developing the illustration.

The first thing we did was look at the existing logo.
