I’ve just launched a new WordPress website design, that is mobile friendly, easy to use and accessible, for the Legal Clinic for the Disabled (LCD) in Philadelphia, US. The Legal Clinic for the Disabled (LCD) is the only non profit focused on providing legal services to those with physical disabilities in the Philadelphia area.
I was approached to redesign the website for the LCD after they were impressed by the annual report design and rebrand designs I had completed for them recently. It’s always really nice to get continued work from our customers because a large part of the work I do is in building trust and relationships with the people I work closely with.
The LCD put to requirements in place. The first was to have an easy to update WordPress website design that was up-to current web standards and the second was to have the website design produced and live by the end of September so they could start their fundraising push for the start of the 2016 New Year.
A WordPress website design in 6 weeks start to finish
Working at pace is never a problem and shouldn’t be if you plan and scope the project correctly at the beginning. However it’s not uncommon with websites, to have a degree of scope creep on any best laid plans. But planning it properly does, and in this case, did enable me to avoid any rework and last minute changes. With the LCD being a charity and having limited resources, this was particularly important.
The initial aspect was to map the site out and arranged the content is an uncluttered and easy to find manner. Once this was in place I was able to design and build a responsive (mobile friendly) WordPress website design, using the latest HTML5, CSS and JQuery. I also provided SEO training to use on the SEO plugin we installed for them.
