Oh we do love a referral. Back in October 2018, the lovely folks at The Business Growth Hub referred us to Micris Limited to help them with a new website. Micris are a leading global business based in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, who specialise in the manufacture and supply of Radomes, Fire & Safety Cabinets, and more, to customers globally. Anyone who’s wondering what a Radome is, they are the domes that surround and magnify a radar’s capabilities.
A key part of any project for the team at Think is to learn as much as possible about any customers business in order to leverage the design value and help increase the potential Return On Investment (ROI) for them. In this case, the project began with initial meetings. Once the website project had been confirmed, the first step was to understand exactly what Mircis do. Our creative director, Paul, arranged to spend the day in sunny Rochdale at the Micris manufacturing premises to learn more. This was also used to recce the facility and decide what photographic opportunities there to shoot their manufacturing processes for Radomes, and Fire & Safety Cabinets.
The second stage was to develop an approved sitemap for the website and design the home page and typical sub page of the website. During this process, we undertook a day’s photography at the manufacturing facility to generate process specific imagery for the website which was used to reinforce ‘in use’ product images, which Micris supplied. The initial web design followed best practice user experience and design layout, which also included how it would work on mobile devices.
The trickiest part of the development was in creating the main image sliders on each page. This was quite a challenge as the idea was to incorporate four different layers; a photograph, a grid, a coloured background, and key messaging. These sliders also had to be aesthetically appealing and readable on both mobile and tablet, as well as desktop, which resulted in 3 different slider creations for each slide. This was time consuming, but definitely worth it!

With all our projects, a ROI is absolute key and two months after launch we’re told that the website is already generating multiple leads for the team at Mircis. This is what Michelle, the marketing manager of Micris had to say about it:
“I would highly recommend this agency. Paul is professional, honest and has some great ideas. We were not working with a large budget but even so Paul at Think Design has delivered a fantastic looking website which looks and feels ‘like us’ but in a very professional site. We are now using Think Design for our next project.”
