What’s your role at Think?

As a member of the website development team, my focus is on bringing the design team’s award-winning vision for client projects into the interactive “domain” in building them as modern, accessible websites and making sure they are well-maintained over time.

Did you always know you wanted to work in development?

Not as a kid, but in my early teens I gained inspiration from some of the earliest websites (yes, even those pesky Flash ones) and continued to attempt to build my own using Macromedia Dreamweaver. From there, my interest in web technologies grew and before I knew it it was a career path.

What’s been your favourite project to work on?

It’s got to be MCL Medics’ current website as it was the first Think project I was able to work on from scratch and it was both a challenging and fun build from start to finish.

What’s something currently on your bucket list?

Becoming a seasoned indoor rock climber. Count me out on the scary free solo stuff.

Coffee, tea or energy drinks while coding?

The one with the most (or least depending on the day) caffeine.

What’s your “must-have” developer tool?

Next to the aforementioned beverage, I don’t think any developer should be without “Git” in their arsenal from day to day. It’s a version control system that is designed to track changes in source code and ensure quick, reliable access to the code so it can be iterated on and maintained. It’s especially important in a collaborative team environment and assists in keeping multiple local and remote versions of the data in sync. Fun fact: it was created by the creator of Linux.
