As a co-founder and Finance Director, what does your role at Think involve?

My main role at Think is handling invoicing and ensuring we are financially on track. On top of this I manage the day-to-day HR and general office management tasks. I like to joke that I’m ‘office mum’ but it is important to me that I support the team as best as I can, which sometimes involves baking treats.

You and Paul built the business together. What’s it like working with your husband?

Errrrrmmmmm ha aha … it can be interesting!

I think the good thing is that we are a team first and foremost and we share the same ethics and vision for the company, so we are both committed to driving it forward in the same direction.

We know each other’s strengths and weaknesses so we can support each other when needed. We are also polar opposites personality-wise, so it helps bring balance and a different perspective to any difficulties/business decisions.

What’s one thing you’ve learned from running a business?

Communication is key! Not just between our team but our clients, too. Being open and honest about a project or costs helps to maintain clarity, streamlining the process as a result.

What have you enjoyed most about helping build Think from the ground up?

I’ve learned so many new skills, but my honest answer would have to be celebrating the ‘wins’ and awards. All too often, it’s easy to get bogged down in the day-to-day running and you can lose sight of the bigger picture so when we get the chance to celebrate an award or even just get fantastic feedback, I think it’s important to acknowledge it and share it with the team.

We hear you’re a big fan of crafts. What’s your latest creative project?

I love anything crafty and have always been that way since childhood; one of my earliest memories is asking Santa for a glue stick! I am always looking to learn something new and currently that is sea glass art, which I’m making into card designs.

I used to love painting and hope to find time over the next few years to get back into it.
